Honoring & Assisting our Military Families

May 24, 2019 | Trace Chesser, Interim President USA Cares

USA Cares is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that addresses the critical and unmet needs of post-9/11 service members, veterans and military families facing hardships related to their service.

We are a national organization, based here in Jeffersontown!

Since 2003, USA Cares has been dedicated to assisting these individuals with both financial and advocacy support. USA Cares provides assistance through four distinct programs: Combat Injured, Career Transition, Housing Assistance and Emergency Assistance, and also provides referrals to other organizations whose services may be of benefit to the veteran or military family.

Our goal is to help restore financial stability and self-sufficiency by giving ‘a hand up, not a hand out’. Prior to receiving financial assistance, applicants are required to complete an online Military Family Financial Education & Empowerment Program hosted by USA Cares. Through this program, applicants are provided with additional education and resources that will lay a foundation for future financial resilience.

Educational opportunities are also available to those who support the clients USA Cares serves. We also offer a nationally accredited online Military Housing Specialist Certification Program, designed to provide loan officers, realtors and housing professionals with a clear understanding of how to work with military borrowers. Those who enroll in the course are eligible to receive Continuing Education Credits upon its completion.

Additionally, USA Cares, in partnership with Fort Knox’ Army Career Skills Program and the Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program, manages the Senior Leaders Corporate Fellowship Program, providing skills development training for those preparing for the transition from military service to a civilian career path.  Through this program, each participant will have the opportunity to partake in a fellowship at a local organization within the Kentuckiana region.

To date, USA Cares has responded to over 112,375 requests for help with millions of dollars in granted assistance, never charging fees or requiring repayment.

Please let us know if we can help and/or if you need additional information about USA Cares.

Thank you for your support!
